What a joined listener can mean

Support starts with the listener's choice.

Every $9.99 Audestra membership reserves $5.25 for artists. The listener decides how that $5.25 is divided among the artists they joined. They can split it equally or choose custom percentages.

Listener allocation to you Monthly support
100% $5.25
50% $2.63
Equal share among 5 joined artists $1.05

A joined listener does not automatically mean $5.25 goes to one artist.
The listener controls the allocation.

Before the payout

Some platforms make you cross a threshold before earning starts.

Audestra does not require a minimum number of streams, followers, subscribers, or watch hours before a paying listener can begin supporting you.

Other platforms can place eligibility thresholds in front of particular monetization programs.

Platform Before this monetization can begin
Spotify recorded-music royalties A track must reach at least 1,000 streams in the previous 12 months, plus Spotify's minimum number of unique listeners, before it participates in Spotify's recorded-music royalty pool.
YouTube creator ad/Premium revenue Requires 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in 12 months or 10 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days for full ad/Premium revenue eligibility.
Audestra artist support No stream, follower, subscriber, or audience-size threshold. A paid listener can begin directing part or all of their artist allocation to you after joining you.

These are different monetization systems.

Spotify's threshold applies to participation in its recorded-music royalty pool. YouTube's threshold applies to creator advertising and Premium revenue through the YouTube Partner Program. Audestra uses neither model: artist support follows the choices of paying listeners.

With Audestra, the first paying listener who joins you can already matter.

You do not need to reach a minimum audience size before listener-directed support can begin.

Getting past the threshold is only the first question. The next is how much activity it takes to generate meaningful revenue.

A different kind of economics

One committed listener can matter.

Audestra is not a per-stream royalty system.

To put the value of one fully allocated Audestra membership in context, compare $5.25 with observed recording royalties from major streaming platforms.

Service Observed recording royalties per 1,000 streams* Approx. streams to generate $5.25
Spotify ~$3.00 ~1,750
YouTube ~$4.80 ~1,094
Apple Music ~$6.20 ~847
Amazon Music ~$8.80 ~597
Audestra $5.25 from one member allocating 100% to you 1 member

At Spotify's observed 2024 average, generating $5.25 in recording royalties would require about 1,750 streams.

With Audestra, one listener who chooses to direct their full artist allocation to you provides $5.25 that month.

Audestra does not pay per stream. The comparison shows the difference between pooled streaming royalties and listener-directed support.

* Streaming services do not pay a fixed amount for each stream. Figures shown are 2024 global averages reported by Duetti for independent artists and master owners, calculated from observed royalties divided by streams. Actual royalties vary by service, territory, subscription type, rights ownership, and label or distributor agreements.

Spotify describes its royalty model as streamshare rather than a fixed per-stream payment.
